OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2010. Top-managers of heavy machine-building plants of GPB Group held a meeting in Gazprombank.

The meeting was attended by OMZ Director General Igor Sorochan, Uralmashzavod Director General Oleg Danchenko, IZ-KARTEKS Director General Pavel Korobkov, OMZ Deputy Director General on drilling equipment Yuriy Karpov.

The main topic was implementation of modernization projects. It was highlighted that all the plants of GPB Group are now performing upgrade of the key production facilities and purchasing modern equipment and aggregates. After in spring 2009 a new super-powerful arc steel-furnace complex had been solemnly launched at Izhora Plant with participation of the Russian Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin, further gradual measures were taken at other plants to upgrade production facilities. Namely, Uralmashzavod allots significant funds to extend production of drilling rigs, implementation of advanced technologies meeting the strictest requirements of Russian oil- and gas-producing. In order to provide high reliability level of drilling equipment a high-tech test-assembly rig was installed at the territory of Uralmashzavod. Due to the measures being taken Uralmashzavod managed to get a number of new orders for drilling equipment from Rosneft, Gazprom-Neft and some other companies for several last months.

CEOs of the machine-building plants were told that Gazprombank BoD supported the deep modernization strategy of all GPB Group plants and approved considerable investments for the period until 2012 incl.

Other issues discussed during the meeting were provision of a high competitiveness level of equipment for nuclear and petrochemical industry as well as prospective of foreign markets entry.
