OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2010. This was claimed by the head of policy and economy department of European Commission Delegation in Moldova Wolfgang Behrendt speaking on the opening in Chisinau of Investment week Moldova Business Week 2010.

He emphasized that the volume of macroeconomic assistance rendering to Moldova by European Commission in 2010-1011 as a grant will make EUR90 million. Herewith, about EUR 50 million is planned to be granted this year. Wolfgang Behrendt noted that the help of EC is destined for the support of Moldavian budget, for stimulation of economic growth and assistance in poverty level decrease, for export promotion, for implementation of reformation programs in agriculture, for creation of favorable economic environment and strengthening of institutional potential of Moldavian ministries and departments.

Wolfgang Behrendt emphasized the importance of attracting to Moldova of foreign investment that will come to Moldova together with new technologies and innovations. He stressed that the level of collaboration between RM and EU considerably improved recently and the parties are holding negotiations on the signing of agreement on associated membership of Moldova in EU, agreements on universal and all-round free trade area, began to discuss the liberalization of visa regime that will make Moldova more attractive for foreign investors, will open the internal market of EU countries and perfect possibilities for promotion of its products in free trade regime on this market.
