OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2010. Belarus’ OAO Belsolod, the country’s only producer of malt, reported a 72.9% increase in malt export in the first five months of 2010 to 7,737 tonnes, a source in the company told.

Supplies to the domestic market dropped 32% to 13,182 tonnes.

Belsolod’s sales totaled 20,919 tonnes in January-May, including over 10,000 tonnes in May alone.

Belsolod produced 17,618 tonnes of malt in January-May 2010, down 52.4% on the year.

Belsolod was established in 1989 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1996.
