OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. Power engineers started to construct the foundation of the two-storey building of the new Ice Palace substation (110 kV). This substation will provide electric power to Ice Arena for curling, Central Stadium, Olympic Park Venues, sports training base, ski tracks, artificial snow covering systems and the hotel complex.

Performer responsible for construction implementation is OJSC “FSK UES”. Ice Palace substation (110 kV) will be a closed energy facility, equipment of which will be placed in the bulk, which will prevent its harmful environmental impact. It is planned to put the new substation into operation in 2011.

The state program of Olympic Venues construction and development of Sochi city as a mountain climatic resort provide for the assembly of over 50 electric power facilities, including 18 substations of 110 kV and 6 generating stations.
