OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2010. “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” per request of the local administration provided 700 meters of pipes (159 mm in diameter) for repair works at the gas pipeline to the Horky village, which was destroyed after the accident at the Orjonikidze mine (CeGOK, Metinvest) on June 13. Local authorities appealed to AMKR with a request to help with gas pipeline repair after the meeting of the local administration headed by the regional leadership, where the immediate steps on accident aftermath elimination were discussed. AMKR provided the necessary volume of pipes to the Kryvorizhgaz Ltd on the same day. Overall, 800 meters of pipers are needed to repair the damaged gas pipeline. 700 of meters worth of 123 thousand UAH were provided by AMKR.

At the same time ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih management has already decided to conduct additional inspections on its mine department regarding the safety rules during the explosion works and the state of the underground mining constructions.
