OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2010. The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan considers it inexpedient to compare prices for tourism services in Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Abulfas Garayev, the culture & tourism minister, says that comparison of prices for two countries’ tourism services is inexpedient as these are two different markets.

“Turkey has a possibility to receive millions of tourists and today’s restrictions for placement of tourists in Azerbaijan do not give an opportunity to render services at the level of Turkey does. Tourism industry in Turkey develops rapidly and to achieve this level Azerbaijan will need 15-20 years,” the minister said.

In addition, Garayev emphasized that special tourism zones should be created for promotion of tourism as only after that Azerbaijan will be able to become a competitive participant of world tourism market.
