OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2010. Belarus’ consumer prices went up 0.8% on the month in May 2010, compared to a rise by 0.7% in April, 1.1% in March, 0.5% in February and 0.8% in January, an official in the National Statistics Committee told.

Prices rose 4% in January-May 2010, compared to 6.5% in January-May 2009.

In annualized terms, that is, May on May, consumer prices rose 7%, which compares to 13.5% in the period May 2008 through May 2009.

Food prices rose 0.7% in May 2010 and 4% in January-May 2010, non-food prices went up 1.1% and 4.7%, and consumer services prices increased 0.4% and 2.7%.

In 2009, inflation accelerated 10.1%. The forecast for 2010 stands at 9%-10%.
