OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2010. The volume of trade turnover between Ukraine and Russia has doubled within five months 2010. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"Cooperation is developing in all industries and brining results. For five months 2010 the trade turnover between Ukraine and Russia has doubled", he said and noted that today even issues that were "frozen" or reached "the conflict phase" are solving. According to Mykola Azarov, such a result was caused by the high level of understanding and dynamics of relations between the leadership of both countries.

Mykola Azarov informed that following his official visit to Moscow several agreements on deepening economic cooperation were reached with the Head of the Russian Government. In addition, according to him, we are intensively signing agreements in the energy sector that will ensure stable and efficient functioning and development of our nuclear energy, hydropower industry, stable supply, transit of oil and gas. In addition, the Heads of both Governments agreed to make an independent market assessment of Ukrainian and Russian aircraft enterprises to explore a problem of the integration of these high-tech facilities.

Mykola Azarov also said that the Head of the Russian Government instructed to speed up the inspection of Ukrainian meat and dairy enterprises to open the Russian market for them as well as to tackle the infrastructure problems of Sevastopol. "Negotiations were fruitful, the parties’ interests are completely accommodated. It is obvious that mutually beneficial economic cooperation is quite rapidly developing, this is the recipe for Ukraine to overcome the crisis", summed up the Prime Minister.
