OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2010. The opening ceremony of SOGAZ International Medical Center will take place in Saint-Petersburg.

Members of city administration, SOGAZ top management and representatives of major business companies will take part in the event.

SOGAZ international Medical Center is a modern multi-profile private clinic. The building located at 8 Malaya Konyushennaya Street is a historic monument (at the end of the 18th century it housed a branch of Saint-Petersburg Palace Department Hospital) whose interior has been fully renovated and the historic facade of the building has been restored.

The clinic occupies 3,500 sq. m. The dental department of the clinic occupies 306 sq. m. of the building in the Cheboksarsky Pereulok (having a separate entrance from the Griboedov Canal). SOGAZ Insurance Group has acted as the project investor. It took 5 years to finish the project. The overall amount of project investments has topped RUR 1,5 billion.

The main advantage of the clinic is the opportunity to receive comprehensive, high-quality medical aid within a short time period in one medical institution. SOGAZ International Medical Center (IMC) will provide more that 4 thousand diverse medical services along 70 licensed practices, including 24/7 ambulance service, urgent and selective surgery, around-the-clock inpatient care, resuscitation and intensive care, shift/telemedicine, remedial medicine, X-ray diagnostics, endoscopy and so on.

The purchased equipment worth over RUR 1 billion will allow the clinic staff to use some exclusive technologies in their practice: intracavity ultrasound examination, semifunctional monitoring, angiography, etc.

The staff is about 400 people, 100 of which are most prominent specialists in Saint-Petersburg. The clinic will be able to serve up to 350 patients daily.

It is envisaged that the main flow of patients will be provided by SOGAZ Group as well as by users of medical services with average or high income.

Vadim Yanov, President of SOGAZ Insurance Group:

”SOGAZ is the absolute leader in the Russian voluntary health insurance market and it is of vital importance for us to have our own network of clinics, in which our clients can receive state-of-the-art and high-quality medical care. SOGAZ IMC in Saint-Petersburg is our pilot project. Further on, similar clinics will be opened in other regions of Russia, especially now when demand for high-tech and state-of-the-art medical centers is still extremely high even in such large cities as Moscow and Saint-Petersburg”.

Dmitry Filatov, Vice President of SOGAZ Insurance Group in North-Western Federal District:

”I can say that any criticism coming from the insured patients including the patients of SOGAZ Insurance Company is due to the shortcomings of the city’s medical institutions themselves and the quality of services provided. An insurance company is an undeniable element of a civilized medical services system. It is responsible for both the organization and quality of medical aid it renders to its patients. Having our own clinic will no doubt allow us to make this process more transparent and efficient. Moreover, we are oriented at the European quality of medical service and will consider both our positive and negative experience of cooperation with clinics in the North-West”.
