OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2010. The Kama Trade House, which is part of Tatneft-Neftekhim Management Company, has been recognized as the most dynamic exporter of the petrochemical industry at the annual contest for the Best Exporter of Russia, reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

The Contest is instituted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to encourage and support domestic producers. Companies from 16 industries branches, whose results are recognized as the best on the basis of assessment of the submitted documents and the methodology of calculation based on the consolidated statements of export enterprises are invited to participate in the Contest.

The Contest is held with the following nominations: best Russian exporter of the industry branch; best Russian exporter of the industry branch to the CIS countries; the most dynamically developing Russian exporter of the industry branch.

Presenting the award, Alexey Melnik, Director of the Department of External trade state regulation of the Russian Federation, noted that "development of export capacity is one of the priorities in the foreign trade policy of Russia".

KAMA Trading House participated in this Contest for the first time. Taking into account the current fierce competition in the tire industry, the award received indicates a high export potential of TATNEFT's tire manufacturers. Despite the precarious financial conditions in 2009, OOO KAMA Trading House achieved high performance: increased significantly (by 55 percent compared to 2008) the number of export items and increased in total export volumes by 10 per cent.

After the acquisition of tire plants in Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan) Tatneft has invested heavily in upgrading production facilities, purchasing the latest technologies and development of new tire models. As a result, the complex of Nizhnekamsk tire plants in 2009 was acknowledged as Russia's largest manufacturer of tires, which showed growth in various segments of the market during this crisis period.

The complex of tire plants of TATNEFT Group of Companies also includes OOO Nizhnekamsk Solid Steel Cord Tire factory. By 2011, this factory will start operating at the design capacity of 1.2 million of SSC tires per year. As a result 70 per cent of SSC tires in Russia will be manufactured by the companies of TATNEFT tire manufacturing complex. The tires fully comply with the European environmental standards.
