OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2010. "Average daily shipments by weight amounted to 3.374 million tons in June, 9.3% more than last year. In all, the first half of 2010 saw shipments by weight increase by 12.2%," said the President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

According to the Yakunin in June this year passenger numbers using the Company’s infrastructure fell by 9.5% compared to June 2010, with long-distance passengers down by 3.1%.

"But in the first half, passenger numbers carried by the Federal Passenger Company showed a steady trend towards stabilisation compared to the previous year, and the numbers have stopped falling," said Vladimir Yakunin.
