OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2010. The Ordzhonikidze district court in Perm passed sentence in the case of a man accused of fraud against UTair Aviation. The man's activity was uncovered by authorities in May 2009.

The perpetrator, a resident of Perm, purchased tickets from the UTair website using information from stolen credit cards. The airline suffered considerable financial damage from the illegal activity. The court convicted the man on several counts of fraud and imposed criminal sanction.

UTair’s financial security department warns passengers that the airline and partner banks regularly update its advanced anti-fraud monitoring system specifically used to prevent credit card fraud.
