OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2010. The Ural International Exhibition and Forum of Industry and Innovations Innoprom 2010 on the stands of which OJSC KAMAZ presented gas-powered vehicles and gas equipment was opened in Yekaterinburg.

Importance attached to promotion and development of domestic gas-fired equipment in Russia is emphasized by the fact that the state’s chief executives Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin participated in the forum. Director General of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogoghin made a report “OJSC KAMAZ’s Innovation Development Program” for the participants.

KAMAZ presented the audience several specimens of its equipment – two vehicles for communal services on KAMAZ-65115-30 (6x4) gas-powered chassis (BM-53229G-1 rear-tipping garbage truck and KO-505AG vacuum vehicle) and NEFAZ-5299-30-31 (4x2) urban low-entrance three-door bus. All of them are equipped with 260 hp Euro-4 gas engines produced by KAMAZ.

The leader of the Russian truck industry and one of the guarantors of Russia’s transportation security, OJSC KAMAZ has been actively developing a gas-powered vehicle sector in its production and innovation policy for a long time. The company considers (compressed) natural gas an equivalent alternative to diesel fuel, and, in addition, natural gas is economically effective as it is evidently cheaper than traditional fuels. Moreover, development of gas engines of the next stage international emission standards (Euro-4, Euro-5) is achieved by simpler design and technological solutions which also increases competitive advantages of vehicles and buses. Experience of accelerated development of gas-powered vehicles in the EU countries provides convincing proof of it.
