OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2010. Power Machines company is to manufacture and dispatch equipment for a new power unit of Karagandinskaya CHP-3, Kazakhstan.

Power Machines signed a contract for manufacture and procurement of equipment to be installed at 150 MW power unit No. 5, which is currently under construction, with a Kazakhstan-based Karaganda Energocentre LLP. The contract price exceeds 800 mln rubles.

Under the terms of the contract, Power Machines will manufacture and deliver to the plant’s site the T-120/140-12,8 steam turbine and a 160 MW turbine generator completed with an excitation system as well as auxiliary equipment. Power Machines’ specialists will also supervise installation activities, manage start-up operations, and provide training for the customer’s personnel. Equipment procurement is scheduled to complete by the summer of 2011.

The equipment for Karagandinskaya CHP-3 is supplied within the frames of expansion programme implemented at the plant; the launch of the new power unit No. 5 is anticipated in the autumn of 2011.

This contract is another example of cooperation between Russia’s power engineering company and Kazakhstan’s engineers. In 2008, Power Machines manufactured and supplied the K-55-90 steam turbine and the TZFP-63 turbine generator for the state district power plant operated by Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.
