OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2010. Belarus’ producer price index (PPI) went up 0.9% on the month in June, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Production facilities prices edged up 0.6%, intermediate materials prices went up 0.9%, and consumer goods prices increased 0.9%.

In January-June 2010, prices increased 10.1% on January-June 2009.

Prices rose 3.3% in the printing industry, 2.3% in the fuel industry, 2% in the chemical industry, 1.5% in the porcelain and glass industry, and 1.4% in the petrochemical industry and light industry.

Prices increased 0.9% in mechanical engineering and metalworking, woodworking and pulp-and-paper industry, 0.8% in the food-processing industry; 0.7% in the microbiological industry, 0.6% in the medical industry, 0.1% in the flour-and-cereals industry.

Prices fell 5.8% in ferrous metallurgy.

Freight tariffs went increased 1% in June 2010 from May. Automobile freight tariffs went up 1.6%, railroad freight tariffs went up 0.5%, air transport tariffs went down 0.8%, and pipeline tariffs rose 1.3%.

PPI rose 14.5% on the year in 2009 following a rise of 14.2% on the year in 2008.
