OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2010. Belarus’ OAO Olivaria, a brewery based in the city of Minsk, produced 3.25 decaliters of beer in January-June 2010, an increase of 6.7% on the year, a representative in Belgospischeprom concern told.

In June, beer output rose 37.2% to 673,000 decaliters.

Beer offering in plastic bottles rose 10.5% to 2.274 million decaliters in January-June, in glass bottles decreased 7.8% to 758,000 decaliters, and in kegs rose 18.7% to 197,000 decaliters. Beer offering in cans reached 21,000 decaliters.

The brewery accounted for 18.2% of Belarus’ beer production in the first six months, down 0.2 of a percentage point year-on-year.

Olivaria beer deliveries to the retail network amounted to 3.161 million decaliters in January-June, up 7.4% on the year.

Beer exports amounted to 39,100 decaliters, up 29.1 times on the year.

Olivaria was founded in 1864 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1994. In December 2006, Sweden’s BBH acquired a 30% stake in Olivaria by purchasing an additional issue of shares for USD 18.5 million.

Carlsberg A/S acquired a stake in Olivaria through a purchase of a BBH shareholding from Scottish&Newcastle in May 2008.
