OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2010. Baltic Beverages Holding AB (Carlsberg Group) has increased its shareholding in Belarus’ OAO Olivaria Brewery to 47% from 30%, Olivaria said in a statement.

“Baltic Beverages Holding AB, which is part of Carlsberg Group, has completed the acquisition of a large shareholding in OAO Olivaria Brewery, thus increasing its share in the brewery to 47% from 30%,” the statement reads.

According to the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange, OAO Olivaria Brewery sold 7,735 shares for USD 6.42 million.

The brewery sold 5,235 shares with par value of 376,590 Belarusian rubles (Br) at USD 913.34 per share for a total of USD 4.781 million; and 2,500 shares were sold at USD 655.34 per share, worth a total of USD 1.639 million.

Olivaria was founded in 1864 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1994.

Carlsberg A/S acquired a stake in Olivaria through a purchase of a 30% BBH shareholding from Scottish&Newcastle in May 2008.
