OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2010. The last shipment lot of STS has been discharged on the berth of the new container terminal of CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company” (part of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”).

Two cranes with the total weight 800 tons each were delivered from  Кonecranes plant in Finland  to the terminal on the pontoon, tugged by the vessel called “Kraft.

The discharge of the second STS is planned for today. Then the tests of the cranes and commissioning procedure will start.

Ship-to-shore cranes are suitable for handling of 20’, 30’, 40’ and 45’ containers, can operate in severe climate: ambient temperature from + 40 up to - 40 degrees, wind up to 20 meters/second and 100% humidity. Snow load of STS – 180 kg/ sq.m

Construction of the first stage of container terminal with the annual capacity of 345 thousand TEU on the territory of the Fourth Stevedoring Company within the development programme of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” was started in 2008 and is carried out on a 24- hour basis. The first shipment lot of 2 STS was delivered in November of 2009. In 2009 all 10 RTG with the lifting capacity up to 50 tons were also delivered.
