RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2010. Over the week of July 19 – July 23, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 4.26% to reach 1,449.19 points (1,389.92 points as of July 16, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (plus 12.07 points) followed by ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 11.23 points) and ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (plus 7.74 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 4.59% to reach 9,523.11 points (9,105.13 points as of July 16, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 2.53% closing at 1,673.11 points (1,631.78 points as of July 16, 2010). Last week almost all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index adding 4.97%. A significant increase was also shown by the consumer & retail and financial sectors, with the RTS Consumer & Retail Index and RTS Financials Index going up by 4.4% and 2.97% respectively.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, added 0.53%.

Last week the US dollar depreciated by 0.14% against the ruble to reach 30.52 rubles per US dollar (30.56 rubles as of July 16, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of July 19 – July 23, 2010 equaled USD12.0 billion (365.94 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,583.98 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,281.07 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD622.34 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD187.65 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 48.87%, 23.74% and 7.16% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of FESCO (FESH) that went up by 16.12% to USD0.43 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC Holding" (MRKH) – by 12.43% to USD0.1293 and ordinary shares of "IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC" (MRKP) – by 10.17% to reach USD0.00661.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PIK Group (PIKK) that fell 3.62% to reach USD3.351 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "RusHydro" (HYDR) that lost 1.87% to reach USD0.0525 and ordinary shares of "FGC UES", JSC (FEES) that shed 1.17% to reach USD0.011.
