OREANDA-NEWS. August 2, 2010. Ilim Group mills produced 1,208 thousand tons of pulp and paper products in 1H 2010. This is 8% above the performance during similar period in 2009.

A total of 770 thousand tons of market pulp were produced, increasing production by 9% as compared with the first six months of 2009. Board production has gained 6%, going up to 340 thousand tons. Paper production remained at the previous year’s level and amounted to 98 thousand tons.

Pulp cooking has grown by 5% from the amounts cooked in 1H 2009, reaching 1,295 thousand tons.

According to Mr. Paul Herbert, CEO of OJSC Ilim Group, the results mirror the growing demand in both domestic and export markets. Given the improved market situation and thanks to the Company's own measures to get over crisis, Ilim Group is continuing to execute its strategic business plan aimed at upgrading existing capacities and creating new ones. Earlier this year the Ilim Group embarked on two significant capital investment projects involving the construction of a new fiber line in Bratsk (Irkutsk Oblast) and also the installation of a new paper machine in Koryazhma (Arkhangelsk Oblast).
