OREANDA-NEWS. August 5, 2010. In the framework of corporate social responsibility project "Green Office", Oranta handed over written off, but usable computers to two non-governmental organizations dealing with the community development in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast: Kyiv-Svyatoshinskiy socio-psychological rehabilitation Center and the International Charitable Fund "New Generation".

Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky Centre for Socio-psychological rehabilitation is engaged in individual and family counseling assistance to the population, which has suffered from the Chernobyl disaster and lived in the contaminated territories in Ukraine. The Center provides psychological help to the children who are medically treated at the Kyiv regional children's hospital. Also, the Center's function is to work with adolescents in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle, education and to facilitate the psychological support for pregnant women. The Center provides assistance to the liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster, the disabled, orphans, large families with many children, veterans and the elderly.

"The computers given by Oranta will be used to provide the population of Kiev-Svyatoshinskiy region of Kyiv with the necessary information on how to overcome social and psychological consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, to promote healthy lifestyles among the people, who suffered from this horrible disaster and lived in contaminated territories. With this computer equipment the Centre will produce the leaflets, booklets and teaching materials, as well as will enable young children to watch movies and presentations and to create and develop their own Internet pages and blogs. Thus, we hope to disseminate more information all around Ukraine and abroad about public education through the series of publications in print and electronic media", - said the Director of the Center, Ms. Angelina Lahtadyr. - "The Administration and the staff of Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi Center extend gratitude to Oranta for helping us, for their understanding and support."

The computers provided to the International Charitable Fund "New Generation" were used during the "Summer Camp - 2010" near the town of Vorohta in Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast organized for 300 orphaned children from different regions of Ukraine during 9-22 July 2010. The International Charitable Fund "New Generation" (Ukraine) together with the "Help Us Help the Children" project of the Canadian Foundation for Children of Chernobyl" organized this summer camp in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains for 17-th consecutive year. After the camp the computers were transferred to the boarding schools for continuous use in classes and labs.
