OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2010. The Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District pronounced legitimacy of the decision of the Moscow Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (the Moscow OFAS Russia) regarding "Akado-Stolitsa" CJSC. The company violated the antimonopoly law on the market of communication services for TV- and radio broadcasting. Earlier the Court of the First Instance and the Appeal Court also confirmed validity of this decision, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In August 2009 the Moscow OFAS Russia found that "Akado-Stolitsa" CJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing market dominance) on the market of communication services for TV- and radio broadcasting - delivering signal from free access channels to the users' equipment in the South-East Administrative District of Moscow.

The company fixed monopolistically low price for technical support of subscriber lines within the Administrative District, which restricted competition on the relevant market.

"The case on monopolistically low price is one of the most important for our Office. The position taken by the courts will not only enable reviving competition on the relevant market , but to use the ruling to strengthen competitive relations on other markets", said Vladimir Yefimov, the Head of the Moscow OFAS Russia.
