OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2010. Uzbekistan Airways received the fifth local-manufactured IL-114-100.  As the four previous, the aircraft will be operated on the destinations inside of the country and outside of the republic, reported the press-centre of Uzbekistan Airways.

All IL-114-100s are equipped with avionics produced by Rockwell Collins (USA), engines produced by Pratt&Whitney (Canada), the propellers made by Hamilton Sundstrand (Holland) and APU made by Honeywell (USA).

However, the fifth IL-114-100 differs from the previous aircraft. According to the remarks of the pilots the aircraft is modified and improved. It must be noted that IL-114-100 has the aircraft control system similar to the Western-made aircraft. So, the pilots of IL-114-100 don’t have to spend too much time for retrain for Boeing and Airbus.

According to the contract with Tashkent Aircraft Production Association named after Chaklov  Uzbekistan Airways will receive two more IL-114-100. One of the aircraft will be received this year and the last one - in 2011.
