OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2010. Rambler has launched a mobile version of its updated news platform. Compact and easy to use on mobile equipment, it possesses the same functions as the main platform: it allows users to quickly scan the main news, and also to get the whole picture of events, by reading the headlines. The mobile version accesses photo and video content, and users can also comment on the material.

On  June 21, 2010, Rambler announced the launch of the beta version of its newly updated news project. The new version of Rambler News after four weeks of testing showed a 50% growth in the depth of the review per session and 60% growth in the holding time within one session. Now Rambler News in the new format works for 100% of portal users.

Rambler Media general director Olga Turishcheva said, “We believe that media products must be relevant for each person, and must offer opportunities and ideas for communications. The new version of Rambler News, offering the freshest information about events, news for residents of various cities, and a new commentary service, meets these requirements. And this has already been noticed and appreciated by our users. It’s important that the modern man wants to be constantly up-to-date with events, and we are giving him that opportunity by launching the mobile version of our news platform. In the near future we will put out an app for iPhone and other mobile platforms.”

According to TNS data, Rambler News’s audience in June 2010 surpassed six million unique users, demonstrating 73% growth from the same month of the previous year.
