OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) included the group of persons comprising "Russian Railways" OJSC and the "Centre for Hauling of Goods in "TransContainer" Containers" OJSC in the Register of economic entities with over 35% share of the relevant market, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia, jointly with its regional offices, analyzed competitive environment on the market of services for providing universal containers for domestic hauling of goods by public railways. Based on its analysis, FAS Russia established that the group of persons comprising "Russian Railways" OJSC and the "Centre for Hauling of Goods in "TransContainer" Containers" OJSC have over 50% market share on the market of services in question within the geographic boundaries of the Russian Federation.

Governed by Clause 8 Article 15 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation "On Approving the Rules for Compiling and Keeping the Register of Economic Entities with over 35% Share of the Relevant Market or with Dominant Position on the Relevant Market if the Federal Laws Specify Instances for Recognizing Dominant Position of Economic Entities on such Markets" of 19th December 2007, FAS Russia issued an Order to include the group of persons comprising "Russian Railways" OJSC and the "Centre for Hauling of Goods in "TransContainer" Containers" OJSC in the Register of economic entities with over 35% share of the relevant market, under the position: "services for providing universal containers for domestic hauling of goods in universal containers by public railways", the code of the Russian National Classifier of Economic Activities - 60.1; market share - > 50%; geographic boundaries - Russian Federation.

The FAS Russia's decision is aimed at preventing restrictions of competition on the above market.
