OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2010. Vostokenergo, a subsidiary of DTEK, has increased the installed capacity of unit 1, Zuevskaya TPP from 300 to 325 MW following its UAH183.7m reconstruction, which has now been approved by the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine. The reconstruction was undertaken between  May and December 2009.

Tests have shown that the power unit benefits  from increased capacity, improved reliability and enhanced flexibility, with its range increased by 35 MW. The reconstruction will help reduce the production cost of electricity generation at Zuevskaya TPP by 1.5%, specific fuel consumption by 22 g per kWh, and will extend the elements’ service life up to 15 years.

During the step by step reconstruction, the turbine, boiler, generator, electric precipitator switchgear and control gear, 6 kV electric equipment and electric drive of raw-coal feeders were upgraded. Installation of the state-of-the-art DCS (digital control system) is the key improvement of the reconstruction, which will ensure the more efficient performance of the unit.
