OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2010. FGC UES has submitted  to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation the report on the implementation of Company’s Investment Programme in the first six months of 2010. Company's Investment Programme for 2010-2012 was considered and approved at a meeting of the Government of Russian Federation on the 15th of September, 2009. At the same meeting FGC was charged twice a year to submit a report on the implementation of the Programme to the Ministry of Energy.

The Investment Programme for 2010-2012 is being implemented in strict accordance with the volumes and timing established and approved by the Government. As of June the 30th  12 energy facilities have already been commissioned. Other projects scheduled for commissioning this year are currently in the active building stage and will be completed in the third and fourth quarters of the year.

The total approved amount of investments the Company has budgeted for 2010 is about 171 billion Roubles. Out of this amount about 140 billion Roubles has been allocated to the new construction and refurbishment projects. For the six months of this year 60.6 billion Roubles have already been allocated for the implementation of Investment Programme. This is a 28% increase over funding of the Investment Programme for the same period of 2009 and 44% increase compared to 2008 results.

Also during the current period the procurement procedures for selection of contractors have also been completed. The procurement procedures have been completed in strict accordance with the criteria and procedures specified in the purchase documents, and were verified as competitive. In general, as a result of competition among contractors, FGC UES in the last six months has managed to reduce the cost of the Investment Programme and operations financing by 11.7 billion Roubles (8.89%) from the original contract value.

The main areas of investment include construction of facilities for the discharge of energy capacity from the nuclear, hydro- and thermal power plants, development of transmission grid infrastructure in the framework of Regional development agreements Company has signed with regional authorities, strengthening the interconnections between the regions of the country, consistent development and introduction of innovations in the national transmission grid. The implementation of FGC UES Investment Programme is closely aligned with the implementation of major national projects. In particular, the Company is building power infrastructure for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, develops the energy facilities as a part of the Federal Special Program "Economic and social development of the Far East and Transbaikalia until 2013"  and builds the pipeline system “Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean”, etc.
