OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2010. This is stipulated by the credit agreement on the project of development policies support with the purpose of Moldova’s economic growth, signed on Thursday by Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat and the WB President Robert Zoellick.

According to the document, the funds will be assigned for a term of 20 years with 10-year deferment of payments under 0,75% per annum by the International Development Association (IDA), entering the WB group. As it was noted by Vladimir Filat after the ceremony of signing, the WB credit will be used for support of short-term policies of the Moldavian Government, stipulated by the Economy Restoration and Stabilization Program, by means of covering the priority expenses for economic restoration and social protection, laying of the base for the further economic growth in post-crisis period, particularly, by means of export and private investment promotion.

The head of Moldavian Government noted, particularly, on the money of this credit a new system of social protection for citizens with low income level would be implemented in Moldova, the financing for road maintenance would be increased; the assistance to agricultural sector would be rendered. The WB funds are also earmarked for support of liberalization of Moldavian export, attraction of investment in energy and IT sectors.
