OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2010.   In January to July, 2010,  cargo transit through Azerbaijan totaled 5.67 million tons versus 6.68 million tons in 2009, 6.595 million tons in 2008 and 5.99 million tons in 2007.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that in January to July, 2010,  transit goods, for the most part, were  sent to the Bermuda Islands (2.139 million tons), Italy (1.07 tons), Switzerland (976,900 tons), Iran (313,800 tons), Georgia (290,100 tons), Tajikistan (262,000 tons), Afghanistan (223,600 tons), Russia (123,400 tons), Turkmenistan (117,500  tons) and Turkey (77,400 tons).

Cargo transit over the reported term made up 156.4%, with rise of 2.045 million tons against the Jan-July 2009 index.

As a whole, in January to July, 2010 in the course of export and import operations 25.48 million tons of cargo were transported (109.22% versus Jan-July 2010), including 21.4 million tons of export and 4.057 million tons of import.

Export by sea made up 179,200 tons, by rail 1.97 million tons, by road 322,300 tons, by air 194,600 tons, and via pipelines 18.748 million tons.

Import included 2.79 million tons by rail, 861,900 tons by road, 380,200 tons by sea, and 11,800 tons by air.

In addition, during temporary regime the country exported goods in the amount of USD 92.308 million and imported to the sum of USD 231.929 million.
