OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. According to Russian Agency, within quality and safety monitoring of Moldavian alcohol products, delivered to Russia from August 1 to August 17, 2010, there were analyzed 69 samples of products – 37 batches of wine, 9 batches of wine materials, 23 batches of cognac in total volume of 664733 litres.

There were revealed 3 batches of wine (23460 bottles) in total volume of 17595 litres, non-corresponding to hygienic standards. As it’s specified, the producers of inferior goods are Ungheni Vin SA and Winery Cricova SA. Expert reports on non-correspondence of product batches to sanitary standards and rules were handed to importers and sent to the Customs Station Borovskiy of the Central Excise Customs for non-admission of deliveries of these products to Russian territory and starting of re-export procedure.

Rospotrebnadzor states that in spite of measures, taken by service for normalization of situation, Moldavian side doesn’t make effective actions on non-admission of import of alcohol products to Russia, non-corresponding to safety requirements. This fact restrains further non-discriminatory admission of Moldavian winemaking products and indicates of necessity of transition to direct contacts with business representatives.

It should be noted the Winery Cricova is recognized in Moldova as an object of national and cultural heritage and is a visit card of Moldova due to well-known wine-cellars Cricova. Let us recall, Rospotrebnadzor has serious claims to Moldavian wine quality. Recently more than 1 million litres of wine, imported to Russia, were rejected because of revelation of dibutylphthalate and dangerous substances content.
