OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. In July 2010, electricity export sales fell by 33.8% mom (-101.6mn KWh) and by 46.5% yoy, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy announced Aug 17. In July, electricity exports totalled 216.4mn KWh. Belarus remains the major consumer of Ukrainian electricity, having consumed 76.2% of Ukraine’s electricity exports in 7M2010.

Millennium Capital sees this news as marginally negative for Utilities. The electricity export sales have decreased due to an increase in domestic consumption by 5.6% mom or by 740mn KWh to 14.1bn KWh against the increase in production of only 4.6% or 626mn KWh to 14.3bn KWh.
