OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. at its meeting the Management Board of JSC FGC UES decided to facilitate construction of certain electric grid facilities in the Northern Caucasus. These measures are aimed at enhancing reliability of power supply to the customers and establishing infrastructure conditions for economic development of Caucasus regions. Energy facilities are constructed under realization of the Program of complex development of electric grid facilities on the territory of the North-Caucasus Federal District of Russia.

It is planned to shift from 2014 to 2013 completion of construction of power transmission line 330 kV Artem – Derbent in Dagestan, substation 330 kV Alagir in Northern Osetia-Alania, reconstruction of substation 330 kV Vladikavkaz-2 in Kabardino-Balkaria. The period of reconstruction of substation 330 kV Blagodarnaya in Stavropol region and construction of power transmission line 330 kV Irganayskaya PP – Chiryurt in Dagestan was shortened by two years.

In 2014 – one year earlier – it is planned to construct power transmission line 500 kV Nevinnomyssk – Mozdok that has the length of 265 km, and complete reconstruction of substation Mozdok with outdoor switchgear 500 kV (the Northern Osetia). It will enable to enhance reliability of power supply to customers in Dagestan and Northern Osetia.

As early as this year (against the next year as it was planned before) JSC FGC UES will start construction of power transmission line 330 kV Nalchik – Vladikovkaz-2 and substation 330 kV Kislovodsk with overhangs on power transmission lines Cherkessk – Baksan. The station transformer capacity will amount to 250 MV. The power facility will enable reliable power supply to customers in resort area of Caucasian Mineral Waters and also in Karachayevio-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria regions of Russia.

Works at substation 330 kV Groznyy in Chechnya will be additionally included in JSC FGC UES investment program. Installation of the third autotransformer at the substation will increase power facility capacity by 125 MVA and also create conditions for connecting power transmission line 110 kV.

In 2010-2014 in accordance with investments plans of JSC FGC UES it is planned to build and reconstruct 23 electric grid facilities on the territory of the Northern Caucasian Federal District. Proposed amount of investments of Federal Grid Company will exceed RUR 30 billion.

The most important projects tat JSC FGC UES realized on the territory of Chechnya include: enhancement of substation 330 kV Groznyy with installing the second autotransformer 125 MVA. Commissioning of additional capacity enhanced reliability of power supply to Chechnya having population of 1.2 million people and also to large industrial customers within the region.

This year in Stavropol Territory of Russia construction of power transmission line 500 kV Volgodonskaya NPP – Nevinnomyssk with length of 415 km and substation 500 kV Nevinnomyssk having transformer capacity 1,002 MVA was completed. New backbone electric grid facilities provide for power output of Volgodonskaya NPP to the regions of the Northern Caucasian Federal District.

In Dagestan this March the company completed reconstruction of main delivery substation 330 kV Chiryurt. In the result of reconstruction transformer capacity of the substation was increased from 325 MVA to 400 MVA that enhanced reliability of power supply to over 1.5 million residents of northern and central regions of Dagestan as well as the town of Makhachkala.

In Dagenstan JSC FGC UES currently constructs substation 330 kV Artem an power transmission line 330 kV Mozdok – Artem having the length of 275 km that will cross the territories of the four constituencies of the Russian Federation: Northern Osetia – Alania, Stavropol Territory, Chechnya and Dagestan. Commissioning of new facilities in 2011 will enhance reliability of power supply to customers within those regions.
