OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2010. COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), a leading provider of integrated telecom services in Russia and the CIS, announces new tariffs for fixed broadband services under MTS STREAM brand for individuals in Moscow.

Starting from August 18, COMSTAR offers a completely new prices for the Home Internet in Moscow for existing and new subscribers.  The updated tariffs include several beneficial offerings for both wireline and wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet and IPTV.

A monthly subscription fee for a data rate of 3 Mbps is now 290 rubles, for 6 Mbps – 490 rubles and for 10 Mbps – 590 rubles. ADSL2+ users can now choose from two high-speed price plans: 15 Mbps for 690 rubles and 20 Mbps for 790 rubles per month. Besides, if you need just a home Internet access, you can use a fixed Internet option with a speed of 1 Mbps for just 150 rubles per month. Those who access the Internet only from time to time can still use tariffs with pre-paid traffic volume. A monthly subscription fee for the above price plans includes network connection and technical support services.

Maxim Chernov, COMSTAR-UTS Marketing Director, comments on the new broadband tariffs: “We analyzed the competitive environment and subscriber needs and offered the most balanced Internet service tariffs in terms of their cost and data speed. At present, our subscribers can get both wireline household communication channel and Wi-Fi access throughout their apartment with an option to watch more than 100 digital TV channels with a very substantial discount – and all these at a favorable price. Thus, COMSTAR-UTS Group has launched the most attractive offering available in the Internet services market in Moscow today.”

Subscribers who opted for high-speed price plans from the new MTS STREAM tariff line (6 Mbps to 20 Mbps) are now offered a unique chance to subscribe to one of the TV packages including from 70 to 110 thematic channels with a 110 rubles discount compared to standard price.

For the period subscribers will use the new tariffs, they will be able to get a Wi-Fi-modern ZTE ZXV10 W300 multi-purpose router supporting IPTV (both traditional IPTV and TV via PC) as well as FON.  Besides, up to December 1, 2010, users subscribed to new price plans with appropriate speed may take on lease an Amino AmiNET110 set-top-box to watch digital TV channels.

New MTS STREAM users may subscribe to COMSTAR services at the new tariff rates in COMSTAR Sales & Service Centers, in MTS showrooms, in sales offices of authorized dealers or via www.stream.ru. Users of legacy price plans can migrate to new tariffs by submitting their applications to COMSTAR (MTS STREAM) Sales & Service Centers and in MTS showrooms.

Starting from August 23, 2010, subscribers who purchased Home Internet EASY (Universal Box Product) for independent Internet connection may also use new tariffs. Before the expiry date of MTS STREAM Home Internet EASY, Home Internet EASY 2.5, MTS STREAM Home Internet Universal, and MTS STREAM Home Internet Universal 2.5, they may leave their application for the migration from their existing price plan to one of the new tariffs in the Personal Cabinet at www.stream.ru. The price plan will be changed next day. It is possible to change price plans indefinite number of times, provided the funds available on the user account are sufficient for this operation.
