OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2010.  The International Exhibition “Construction in Turkmenistan-2010” started its work in the Turkmen capital on August 20. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Building Materials Industry of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenawtoyollary State Concern in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, the heads of the diplomatic missions and representations accredited in Ashgabat, the representatives of the public organisations of the Galkynysh National Movement and journalists participated in the Exhibition opening ceremony.

The ceremony participants and guests greeted with enthusiasm the welcoming statement of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to participants of the forum. "Dynamic development of the construction industry, high quality of facilities under construction throughout the country vividly indicate the economic growth of the Turkmen state. Ongoing large-scale construction work creating a new image of the country augments the beauty of our Motherland,” the Turkmen leader said in particular.

The conference that brought together the high-ranking officials of sectoral ministries and departments, the representatives of the world’s leading companies, scientists, experts, construction professionals from many countries of the world started its work in the framework of the representative forum at the Exhibition Centre. The major themes under discussion at the conference included advanced technologies and prospects for cooperation in the construction industry, the priority trends in production of building materials in the context of the implementation of large-scale innovative projects. The reports provided the detailed information on the current condition and prospects for the development of the construction industry in Turkmenistan.

The three-day Exhibition is a splendid opportunity for numerous guests to visit the large-scale and versatile exposition that vividly showcases the success of ongoing reforms that have stimulated the progress of the construction industry in our country. Over 130 participants representing sectoral departments, enterprise of the building materials industry and Turkmen construction firms as well as more than 70 leading companies from 15 countries including Russia, Germany, Great Britain, Korea, Turkey and Ukraine present their exposition in Ashgabat. A great variety of construction machines and special equipment including bulldozers, excavators, vehicles, compact concrete crushers is displayed on the open-air area of the Exhibition Centre. The attention given by foreign businessmen to the Exhibition testifies to an intense interest in the very promising and dynamically developing market of our country.

The rates of growth of the domestic construction industry and its impressive achievements are displayed more fully in the pavilions of the relevant departments and the largest enterprises producing facing stones, cement, bricks, panel blocks, non-metallic building materials or pipes, reinforcement rods, channel bars that are in high demand on construction sites throughout the country goods. So, it was crowded in the pavilions of such enterprises as, for example, the Turkmenmermer plant, the Turkmenturba plant and Ovadan-Depe metallurgical works.

The draft designs of various facilities help the visitors to learn about the trends in the development of rapidly renovated towns and villages and the capital city of the country. The expositions include the models of the complexes of administrative and office buildings, shopping and entertainment centres, comfortable apartment houses. The Turkmen designing institutes and private construction firms, whose role in the construction sectors grows with every passing year, major foreign contractors are widely represented at the Construction in Turkmenistan-2010 Exhibition.

A separate section is dedicated to road construction. Today, the country implements large-scale transport infrastructure projects and build thousands of kilometers of autobahns and facilities such as bridges, flyovers, interchanges that require fresh engineering solutions and advanced technologies. Therefore, the expositions of the companies specializing in construction of highway stream crossings and multi-level interchanges and the foreign firms willing to offer their know-how in this field to Turkmenistan were of particular interest.

It is not the least of the facts that most of innovative projects of fashionable housing estates, white-marble administrative buildings, new autobahns and industrial facilities presented at the economic exhibition in Ashgabat will be implemented in the near future. The exhibition stirs interest for it provides a splendid opportunity to look into the future of Turkmen towns and villages and evaluate most original and multipurpose projects.
