OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010.  The International Exhibition “Construction in Turkmenistan-2010” completed its work in the Turkmen capital on August 20. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Building Materials Industry of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenawtoyollary State Concern in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Over 130 foreign and Turkmen companies present their exposition in Ashgabat.

The large-scale exposition presented building materials, construction machines and special equipment, innovations and technologies, road construction and design. It is significant that emphasis in the industry is put on wide adoption of technologies that enable to implement larger-scale and innovative projects and enhance competitiveness of local construction companies and home-produced building materials.

The rapidly changing look of towns and settlements throughout the country is the best illustration of the success of the model of economic development and large-scale reforms taking place in the country on initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The effectiveness and relevance of the construction industry development concept put forward by the Turkmen leader has promoted the economic growth, construction of housing, social and cultural and infrastructure facilities and development of new industries.

To enhance the potential of the construction industry there are all necessary conditions including substantial investments made in the construction sector, the favourable investment climate attracting leading construction companies, manufacturers of building materials, special machines and equipment to the country. Much effort is taken to encourage entrepreneurial activity in this sphere. Turkmenistan is rich in natural resources for producing building materials. Thus, the construction exhibition in Ashgabat ranked among the remarkable events in the business life of our country as well as for foreign construction companies. Turkmenistan gives significant attention to adopting advanced technologies. The country has the resources and potential required to develop the construction sector and, therefore it can be forecast that the exhibition will result in concluding fruitful contracts for delivery of equipment and technologies that will be used to implement new projects.

The specialists’ intense interest in the exhibition is natural. In Turkmenistan the construction industry is dynamically developed, and Ashgabat has rightfully earned the reputation as an architectural pearl of the region; large-scale construction has been launched in urban and rural areas. The Government puts much effort to promote this sector of the national economy. That is vividly proved by the recent decision to let private companies build apartment houses in rural areas.

The Exhibition spotlighted the keen interest of foreign businessmen in the very promising and dynamically developing market in our country. Foreign companies willing to offer their effective technologies and innovations to Turkmen partners tried to present the widest spectrum of activity to Exhibition participants and guests in the framework of their expositions. So, the International Exhibition “Construction in Turkmenistan-2010” in Ashgabat contributed considerably to enhancing international cooperation. Fruitful talks focused on recent projects will lay the foundation for new contracts in the near future and contribute to the dynamic development of the construction industry.

The conference became a major event in the framework of the Exhibition “Construction in Turkmenistan-2010”. It provided specialists from different countries with an opportunity to exchange views on the prospects for the development of Turkmen construction sector. It should be noted that Turkmenistan is keenly interested in advanced technologies and know how positively viewing them as instruments to enhance the technological capacity of the country and modernize the construction sector.

New architectural projects including administrative, cultural and educational centres and sports, healthcare and entertainment facilities, hotels that will be constructed in Turkmenistan in the near future aroused intense interest among the guests and participants of the exhibition and conference. The large-scale exposition was of particular interest to specialists, experts and marketing analysts. Also, the Exhibition became an unforgettable event for the people and numerous guests of the Turkmen capital for it provided a splendid opportunity to look into the future of the country and imagine how advanced technologies would transform the streets in Turkmen towns.

So, Turkmen builders face a future with optimism because advanced technologies and best practices are adopted in the sector that was vividly illustrated by the exposition in Ashgabat. Diplomas and certificates were presented to forum participant during the closing ceremony.
