OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2010. The startup of Busher NPP in Iran proves that Russia always fulfills its obligations. According to the Government press-service this information was announced by Head of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko during his meeting with Head of RF Government Vladimir Putin held in Novo-Ogarevo on August 19.

On August 21, 2010 the physical startup of the nuclear power plant will be implemented under supervision of the IAEA inspectors. According to Kiriyenko, they will open fuel containers supplied to Iran by Rosatom a year ago and charge fuel into the reactor compartment.

“It completely meets the Russian idea that any country has the right for peaceful use of nuclear energy under IAEA supervision and in compliance with all the norms and requirements”, the Head of Russian Nuclear Corporation said.

“It is important that this is a large international project: though Russia has implemented the major work, the supplies were performed by more than 10 countries, including countries of the European Union and Asia-Pacific Region”, Sergey Kiriyenko noted.

According to him, this international project shows that “if Iran develops peaceful nuclear energy under the IAEA supervision and meets the requirements of all international norms and legislation, then it, as any other country, has the right to do so.”
