OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2010. JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” will fulfill all its obligations to passengers who have bought tickets to the Company’s Far-Eastern flights suspended from April 11, 2010, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The RF legislation in effect does not prohibit cancellation of flights by an airline, while handling of passengers is performed within the civil law contract for air transportation. In fact, 6768 air tickets were issued for Far Eastern flights, of which 3701 tickets were returned by passengers, whereas 2169 passengers were transported by flights of other airlines, namely, “Vladivostokavia”, “Sibir”, and “Sakhalinskie aviatrassy”; hotel services were provided to 22 passengers. Like in the previous months, Aeroflot maintains its obligations to transport the rest of the passengers who purchased tickets until the end of October 2010.

The need to suspend the flights Vladivostok – Khabarovsk - Vladivostok, Khabarovsk/Vladivostok – Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Khabarovsk/Vladivostok, and Vladivostok/Khabarovsk – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski – Vladivostok/Khabarovsk was caused by the necessity to optimize the routing network being performed due to the transfer of the aviation assets of State Company “Rostekhnologii” to Aeroflot.
