OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2010. Steel output of Zhlobin-based Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) amounted to 1.26 million tonnes in January-June 2010, down 0.8% on the year, an official with the plant told.

Rolled stock output decreased 3.3% to 1.04 million tonnes, and pipe output rose 120.3% to 47,400 tonnes.

Metal cord output went up 20.5% to 44,600 tonnes. Steel cord output rose 57.6% to 95,500 tonnes.

Bead wire output amounted to 12,900 tonnes, down 0.6% year-on-year.

BMZ’s overall output increased 29.6% on the year in January-June to 2.051 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

Sales increased 40% on the year to 2.067 trillion rubles.

BMZ’s exports increased 24.4% on the year to USD 544.2 million.

State company Belarusian Metallurgical Plant was launched in 1984. BMZ exports about 85% of its output. Non-CIS countries account for more than 70% of the BMZ’s exports.
