OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2010. Igor Ilyuhin, the Deputy Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for economic development, industrial policy and commerce

The Day of St. Petersburg is organized at “Agrorus 2010” agro-industrial exhibition and fair, conducted at “Lenexpo” exhibition and congress center.

A lot of events have been scheduled within program’s framework but the core component is the forum “Situation in St. Petersburg Food Market and urgent problems of Regional agro-industrial complex in the modern economic conditions”.

Here at the Forum our State authorities, business and public representatives are trying to look into the problems of St. Petersburg commerce and work out some solutions.

Forum was opened by Igor Ilyuhin, the Deputy Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for economic development, industrial policy and commerce, who confessed that City’s administration had a different plan for the Day program. But current food market situation made them change the plans and schedule such forum. “The situation is difficult but not critical or tragic,”- assured Mr. Ilyuhin in his report.

Forum participants have come to the conclusion that in many cases the situation was tensed deliberately. It is too early to make final crops prognosis because some regions were damaged by fires and drought, but there are areas, now yielding unexpectedly rich harvest.

The program also included some festive events. There was awarding ceremonies for the winners of the first stage of “Made in St. Petersburg” and “St. Petersburg Alcohol Business” and “St. Petersburg Best Products” contests.
