OREANDA-NEWS. September 1, 2010. New P-6 -3.4/0.5-1 turbine unit (6.0 MW capacity) is being installed at CHPP-12 of OJSC Irkutsenergo. The decision to replace the unit was made in 2008. Last year the previous turbine and its foundation were dismantled; installation and construction works started at the beginning of this year. The station specialists point out that the new equipment installation required substantial construction works: casing; inspection followed by the installation of the turbine and the generator; installation of live steam pipelines and extraction lines; installation of oil system, electrical equipment, instrumentation and automatic equipment. ZAO Irkutskenergoremont is the contractor of the project. The cost of works is RUB 112,685 thousand. In October 2010, all finishing works are scheduled for completion; a set of tests, settings and measurements is to be performed; the turbine is to be powered up.

Sergey Cherkasov, the Chief Engineer of CHPP-12: This turbine unit will increase the station capacity twice and not only will improve its technical and economic indicators but will also provide new development for Cheremkhovo.
