OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2010. Before September 6 the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova to prepare and submit for approval to Rosselkhoznadzor a new list of fruit and vegetables suppliers to Russia. This was announced to the journalists after the meeting of the Government by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc.

He noted that the list was prepared by the specially created working group. Speaking on criteria of selection of the companies in the new list of suppliers Valeriu Cosarciuc emphasized that first of all the pretenders had to confirm safety of exported products, have the experience in export operations. They also need to have no complaints on products safety from Russia. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted the list would be made after thorough analysis of all companies, exported vegetables and fruit to Russia.

Valeriu Cosarciuc also noted that in order to save the money, to improve the monitoring of deliveries and to provide the products safety the number of Moldavian exporters might be not very big, taking into account the experience of the Western countries, where only the limited number of companies supplied the plant products to Russia.

However, according to him, the new list will include much more companies than those 33, earlier approved by Russia. Initially the list included 136 economic agents. When Moldova proposed to increase it up to 177 companies Rosselkhoznadzor, on the contrary, reduced it up to 33 companies, motivating it by the fact that many products that didn’t correspond to safety standards came from Moldova. Most often number of pesticides in the apples exceeded.
