OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2010. In the framework of the construction of power distribution facilities for energy block No. 4 of the Kalinin nuclear power plant, a solemn ceremony dedicated to signing of an agreement between the administration of Tver Оblast and Federal Grid Company for cooperation and joint implementation of the infrastructure projects under the construction of 750 kV high-voltage transmission line from Kalinin nuclear power plant to substation Gribovo took place.

Mr. Sergey Makarov, Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC Stroytransgaz – general contractor for the project, participated in the ceremony.

The project provides for design and construction of more than 560 km of 220-750 kV power lines and putting into operation of more than 6758 МVА of transformer power. At present, the installation of foundations and supports for 750 kV power lines is well under way between Kalinin nuclear power plant and Gribovo where the new substation Gribovo of the nominated transformer power of 3504 MVA will be located. The 275 km long line will run across the territory of Tver Oblast as well as North and West regions of Moscow Oblast. The extension works for a 750 kV Belozerskaya substation in Vologda Oblast and the construction of a 500 kV Dorokhovo substation with capacity of 1502 MVA in Mozhaisk region of Moscow Oblast are also being performed. In August 2010, the construction of the first circuit of a 75 km long 500 kV Gribovo – Dorokhovo line as well as of a 220 kV Dorokhovo – Sloboda overhead power line in Moscow Oblast started.

All the construction works for the electrical grid facilities are being performed in full and on schedule. Putting the main grid facilities into operation scheduled for December 2011 will make it possible to increase the power distribution in the 220 – 10 kV grid by 1400 MVA to provide the Moscow Oblast consumers with power. It will allow to connect new consumers and to increase considerably the reliability and stability of the entire power supply system in the region.
