OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2010. Potash fertilizer export by Belaruskali increased 120% on the year in July 2010 to 566,000 tonnes, a source in a concerned agency told.

“The growth attests to a revival of global markets after the recent crisis, however, it is early to speak about a complete market recovery, because in previous years exports used to be at least 200,000 tonnes above the July 2010 volume,” he said.

He reminded that the government expected Belaruskali to export up to 7 million tonnes of fertilizers in 2010 to compensate for the short proceeds from export of oil products, resulting from new terms of trade.

In 2010, Belaruskali plans to produce 7.25 million tonnes of fertilizers.

Last year, fertilizer export reached 2.948 million tonnes, which compares with 6.48 million tonnes in 2008.
