OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2010. Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 13.3% on the year in January-July 2009 to 2.289 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Commercial timber procurement rose 7.9% to 1.27 million solid cubic meters, wood veneer output rose 21.7% to 102,500 cubic meters, and sawn lumber production increased 7.4% to 558,600 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output rose 9.9% year-on-year to 22.1 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went up 7.6% to 176,700 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 15% to 837.8 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Inventories of woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies amounted to 278.5 billion rubles on August 1, 2010.
