OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2010. During summer 2010 Ukraine International Airlines has carried a record number of passengers and cargo, significantly increasing performance compared to the same period last year. These results prove the situation on the Ukrainian aviation market has stabilized and the industry leader has successfully overcome the consequences of the world financial crisis, reported the press-centre of UIA.

In August 2010 UIA operated 2157 flights and carried 228 thousand passengers (10% increase compared to August 2009).

During June-August 2010 UIA operated 6383 flights and carried 636 thousand passengers.

During June-August 2010 UIA carried 2396 tons of cargo and mail, an increase of 26% compared to the same period last year.

“This growth in volumes carried is a result of the anti-crisis strategy undertaken by UIA, - noted Yuri Miroshnikov, UIA President. - Despite the crisis, the echoes of which we still feel, the company has launched new routes, increased flight frequencies and introduced modern technologies to marketing and sales. Our main task is to constantly improve our service standards and ensure the optimal quality-price ratio for our passengers".
