OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2010. The World Bank will allocate these funds by means of the mechanism of co-financing, launched within the Competitiveness Improvement Project for implementation of quality standards at Moldavian enterprises. The mechanism of grant co-financing returns 50% of cost of consulting services and expenses on implementation of quality standards.

Local companies may solicit for provision of assistance in a wide range of services, such as: implementation of quality systems (ISO, HACCP); implementation and improvement of information management, control and assessment systems; development of business-plan; realization of marketing researches, planning and promotion; planning of business strategies, including designing of new products and services, and planning of investment; development of project-technical documentation; support in implementation of plans on reorganization and restructuring; trainings for personnel.

In this context Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar emphasized that the government took certain measures to support the real sector of economy and struggle against the consequences of economic crisis. According to Valeriu Lazar, these grants will favor the quality improvement of products and services rendered to the local enterprises, and the growth of their competitiveness on the internal and external markets. The Competitiveness Improvement Project is implementing from 2007 to 2011. Its objective is to improve the competitiveness of the enterprises by means of improving the business environment and modernizing the Metrology, Standardization, Testing and Quality system.
