OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2010. Belarus’ international reserves, based on the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) methodology, went down 1.5% in January-August 2010 to USD 5.569 billion as of September 1, 2010, according to the National Statistics Committee.

As of September 1, foreign currency reserves amounted to USD 3.133 billion, up 24.3% in the first eight months, the amount of monetary gold reached the equivalent of USD 876.2 million, up 6.7%, and other assets were at USD 1.004 billion, down 42.1%.

Special drawing rights were at USD 556.4 million as of September 1, down 3.8% from January 1, 2010. Belarus’ IMF reserve position is at USD 0 million, showing no change

In 2009, Belarus’ reserves went up by USD 2.591 billion, or 84.7%. This year, international reserves are projected to rise by USD 500 million-USD 1.83 billion.
