OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2010. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Omsk region (Omsk OFAS Russia) found that the following suppliers of buckwheat violated Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia:

“Skurenko” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Frik, “Melnitsa” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Odintsov, “Omskoye” OJSC, “SibSol” Trading House” Ltd., “Inkos” Trading House” Ltd., and individual entrepreneurs Novgorodtsev, Kolesikov, Malonovskaya and Drozdov.

The case was initiated upon price monitoring by Omsk OFAS Russia on the market of peeled buckwheat in the Omsk region.

Having investigated the case, the Commission of Omsk OFAS Russia found that in July-August 2010 “Skurenko” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Frik, “Melnitsa” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Odintsov, “Omskoye” OJSC, “SibSol” Trading House” Ltd., “Inkos” Trading House” Ltd., and individual entrepreneurs Novgorodtsev, Kolesikov, Malonovskaya and Drozdov fixed unreasonably high prices on the wholesale market of peeled buckwheat.

The Commission of Omsk OFAS Russia also issued determinations to the companies to eliminate antimonopoly violations. The case against an individual entrepreneur Novgorodtsev is closed due to lack of antimonopoly violations in his actions.

“Skurenko” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Frik, “Melnitsa” Trading House” Ltd., an individual entrepreneur Odintsov, “Omskoye” OJSC, “SibSol” Trading House” Ltd., “Inkos” Trading House” Ltd., and individual entrepreneurs Kolesikov, Malonovskaya and Drozdov will be made administratively liable under the Code on Administrative Violations.

“In the investigated period prices for buckwheat were increased not only by suppliers but also by producers based in the Altai region, the Novosibirsk region and in the Urals. Therefore, we will forward case files to the antimonopoly bodies of the regions where those buckwheat producers operate”, said the Head of Omsk OFAS Russia Sergey Soumenkov.
