OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010. Cotton picking is actively being held on the fields of our country. Farmers of Kashkadarya have grown up such cotton grades as “Bukhara-6”, “Bukhara-8”, “Bukhara-102”, “Namangan -77” and others on more than 160,000 hectares.

“We received 31.7 quintals of yield per hectare and sent to collection points 165 tons of cotton since the first collection,” said the head of the farm “Yangiboy” of Mirishkor area Mukhtor Sharopov. “The service organizations also made worthy contribution to the cultivation of a rich harvest, in particular, funds and banks, “Kishlokhujalikkimyo” and other companies that provide timely soft loans, fertilizers, fuels and lubricants.”

Favorable conditions are created for the pickers in the process and they are provided with all necessary services. Payment for work is issued every five days, the constant attention is paid to creating the necessary conditions for collectors. Cultural and commercial services and medical services are available at the field camps.

According to the Regional Health Authority, the special clinics are organized at field-camps and are staffed by qualified medical personnel and have all the necessary medicines. Forty-five vehicles of ambulance are allocated to the harvest. In addition, the quality and storage conditions of food, drinking water, the observance of sanitary norms are constantly monitored.

“Health workers not only observe the health and working conditions of harvest participants, they are also engaged in advocacy and outreach on the themes of health,” said the Deputy Head of Regional Department of Health Umida Goziyeva. “More than 600 doctors, paramedics and nurses are attracted in this work on the fields. Daily, special medical teams are created in the areas to monitor the health of the participants of harvest.”
