OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) jointly with the Department of Economic Security of the Russian Ministry of Interior and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation started a surprise inspection of three largest buckwheat suppliers. The purpose of the inspection is to discover the facts of antimonopoly violations, primarily, the facts confirming pricing collusion, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 12th August 2010, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation instructed the Prosecutors of the constituent territories of the Russian Federation to inspects the largest regional producers and suppliers of buckwheat to discover possible pricing collusion and unreasonable increase of prices. Inspections should be organized jointly with the regional offices of FAS Russia. In most regions such inspections are already taking place.

On 26th August 2010 and 9th September 2010, there were two meetings of the Inter-Branch Working Group for Preventing Economic Crimes, formed by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. In line with the decisions made at these meeting, on 30 - 31 August 2010 FAS Russia sent information about producers and suppliers of buckwheat to the Department of Economic Security of the Russian Ministry of Interior and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation.
